Frank had a puppy session with us before lockdown began to just generally see what his owners should do with him with regards to training. During the session we advised that he was showing early signs of nerve and it was something to keep in mind moving forwards.
Fast forward a few months and Frank’s owners contacted us because they were experiencing some issues stemming from his nerve towards people and dogs invading his personal space.
One of the best pieces of advice we could possibly give is if you have a puppy, get a trainer to take a look and see what they think of their temperament and behaviour. They will help to highlight potential issues in the future and steer you away from disappointment.
Frank’s issue was a simple one to address and is more of a case of getting him to pay attention to his owners and trust in their handling and decision making on his behalf. Sometimes we really just need to show our dogs that we acknowledge their worries and make small adjustments to ease them.
Nice work guys we’re sure you’ll smash it.
