Nova’s owners were having a couple issues with reactivity while they were out on walks. Depending on the environment it could be dogs, people or noises.
With Nova we started right from the beginning and looked at teaching reliability of eye contact and focus around distractions, teaching loose leash walking, and basic obedience.
We got one of our dogs out to see what was going on with her reactivity and it was being caused more by lack of communication than anything else, once we had her engaged and understanding that the handler was more fun than anything else in the environment she was great.
Really quite straight forward and easy one this time around which isn’t a bad thing sometimes! Nova’s food drive and speed in obedience are actually really nice so once she understands there’s value in her owners in external environments she’ll be off to the races.
